1 1. PURPOSE: The directors of the HOBBYTOWN RACETRACK want your time here to be the most pleasurable and safe possible. We therefore have established the following rules and regulations that will guide the activities while at HOBBYTOWN events. You are our guests, enjoy
and remember this is a hobby. 2.
SAFETY: *Spectators
must remain 3’ from the track edge. *All
cars must have a body on while on the track to protect everyone from the moving
parts. *Gear
covers are required for the safety of the corner workers. *When being cornered, please do not throttle up. Use the brakes when others have their hands
near the vehicle. *ROAR rules will be used as needed to resolve conflicts. This outline is specific to our track. Decisions and directives by the race director are final. Decisions by race director may be petitioned if submitted in writing or by using the Racer Protest form at the end of these regulations
within 3 business days. 3.
DRIVERS: *The
race director has the right to refuse any entry application for any valid
reason. *All
drivers must attend the drivers meetings. *A driver must not allow another driver to compete for him in a race. Points shall follow the driver of record and if unable to compete, will not be scored. When the substitute driver also runs the same points series and has their own points standings, the substitution will not be allowed
to score points. A vehicle may be
run, but the points series follows the driver. *Drivers must complete one lap in the main or have participated fully in both heat races to score points for that race day. Unless approved by the director, the car used to qualify must be
used for the main. If an alternate car is used, the driver will start from the
back of the grid. *Reverse
is not allowed to be used while in competition. 2 *Corner cutting or “short tracking” will not be allowed. A warning will be issued to any driver observed by the race director to not following course and if the violation is repeated, a
lap, complete heat or main point standing may be deducted at the race directors
discretion. 4.
TECHNICAL INSPECTION: *Technical inspection may be performed prior to issuing transponders for the heats/mains. The top three finishers in each "A" main will automatically report for inspection. Inspection will include (but not limited to) motor, batteries, clearance and overall height and other class specific items. The race director has the right to inspect any vehicle at any time. It is the drivers responsibility to tear down a car for inspection if required to do so. The race director has the right to limit admittance of personnel to any area in which inspections are being
made. *Failure to pass inspection may result
in lost points. *New products are developed everyday. If a racer has a device on his car during the race, that device must be disclosed to the race director if requested. Confidentiality will be held if requested. If a vehicle contains a device and that devices purpose is not disclosed upon request, the driver will lose any points accumulated that race day. 5.
RADIOS AND FREQUENCIES: *Frequencies will be recorded by the race director at sign in. Do not change operating frequencies
without clearance from the race director.
*Frequency clips must be used during open practice and in the pits any time a vehicle is being operated when not racing. The clip will be displayed on radio antenna immediately upon
removal from the board and be immediately returned when done tuning/practicing.
*Operation
of your vehicle when races are in process requires race director approval. *Frequency conflicts will be the responsibility of the racers to remedy. All racers shall have
at least one back up frequency. The
race director will post conflicts. 3 *Unless otherwise arranged, the racer with a higher qualifier that day will have priority of frequency. Please be prepared to change frequencies if necessary. If an alternate is listed upon registration, its use will be elected as necessary by the computer, be prepared to use it. If you do not have a useable back up frequency and other arrangements cannot be made, you may not be able to run, but will score minimum points
for the race day. *It is also suggested to label your radio with name and phone number and record in a safe
spot the serial numbers of radios. *Even numbered frequencies only are allowed at Hobbytown operated tracks (one-week grace
period allowed). 6.
RACING: *Races will be announced 3 minutes ahead of heats or mains. Races will be announced or
posted approximately six minutes before races begin. *Main
race duration will generally be as follows: 1.
Oval/Specialty Classes
4 min.
2. Road course
5 min++
3. 1/12th GTP
8 min++ ++Race times may be reduced to 4 minutes mains depending on entry quantity and time restraints at race directors discretion. *Heat races will all be generally 4 minutes in length for Nascar Pro and Sportsman. Others on Oval and Road course will be 5 min. *Drivers must have the vehicle to the starting line and checked in prior to the start of the
race. Late entrance allowed only by
the race director. *Counting is done by AMB Personal Transponder. It must be mounted in a safe location within the body of the vehicle. If using a hand out Transponder, the transponder shall be picked up only after the start of the race preceding. Transponders are to be returned immediately
after the finish of your race and cornering duties.
PERFORM YOUR CORNERING DUTIES (or have a designee), ONE LAP WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM YOUR BEST QUALIFIER PRIOR TO SORTING FOR THE MAINS. Failure of a driver to corner the race after running (whether he completes the main race or not) will be cause to have any points accumulated in that event canceled, except when applicable to the TQ
of the evening, that point stands alone. *Race schedules are important, a 30-second grace period maximum will be allowed for the
mains only (no grace in the heat races). *Vehicles disabled during racing will be turned off or turned over until the end of the race. Do not expect the corner marshals to do repairs. It is suggested to clearly label your “ON-OFF” switch
for corner marshals to find it. *When being cornered, apply brakes and do not throttle up until the corner worker is clear
of your vehicle. Violators will
be warned, then penalized one lap per incident. 7.
BLACK FLAGS: *Any
driver will be requested to pull his vehicle as commanded by the race director
for:
Driving the track backwards,
Broken vehicle that may cause harm or damage,
Un-sportsmanlike conduct,
Missing safety gear (bodies, gear covers, etc.).
***WHEN COMMANDED BY THE RACE DIRECTOR TO PULL YOUR VEHICLE, DO SO IMMEDIATELY!! QUESTIONS OR CONFLICTS WILL BE RESOLVED WHEN
SAFE CONDITIONS PERMIT.*** 8. CLASS SPECIFICATIONS: *All vehicles must be taken to the "Tech/Impound Area" immediately when called to do so. See
previous section on Technical Inspections. **TRUCK AND BUGGY CLASSES: Unless an adequate quantity of each vehicle is entered to separate them, these two vehicle types will be run together as a “gearbox” class. This is at
