Greetings and Welcome to Hobbytown’s Racing Program.

We race radio cars and trucks in various classes on different types of tracks.  From the budget to the full blown, all racers who come to Hobbytown will feel welcomed and find the other racers helpful and happy to share the experience.

We typically race three nights a week.  Mostly at our in store race tracks, but in summer also at our outdoor off road track which is part of the Speedzone racing complex.

Thursdays has been a mainstay, with racing on the carpet oval going on for over 20 years now in the Oshkosh area.  Types of vehicles typically run are pan car (Nascar and Bomber spec class), Gearbox equipped vehicles, Short Course Trucks and Traxxas Stampede spec class.  Within those class’s, we often break down the class’s to group like interests, skills or budgets.  In 2010 for example, we have Short Course Trucks in Novice, Junior (mostly box truck vehicles) and Pro Short Course (for those who like to kick things up a notch).

Fridays we run our indoor dirt oval, where the class’s typically run are Sprint Car (Mini, Stock and Open), Late models (on a 4wd frame), Stampedes, Gearbox’s and again, the full gamut of Short Course trucks.

Saturdays in the winter months we run on the carpet race track with the main stays of Short Course (again Novice, Junior and Pro) along with Gearbox and Stampede, but we add to that 4 wheel drive chassis class’s of HTO Vintage (a very controlled spec class where speed is lower, but fun is high), a national spec Trans Am class and a Stock Sedan class, where speed and ability to drive consistent lines on the track are important.

Saturdays in Summer we move outdoors and run at our off road dirt track with the high powered Monster Trucks, 1/8 scale buggies (electric and gas) and 1/10 gearbox with electric and gas class’s, along with the Short Course truck offerings.

Class guidelines are used (see the rule’s section of our web page) to guide us to what class you would run in, we will accommodate all who come to race and may just need to grant an exception for a week or two for a racer to adapt after they see how much fun it is.

We run race series (2 each winter, 1 in summer, individual for each track) where drivers earn points each day and class they participate in and at the end of each season, award trophies for those who competed the majority of races (determined at the start of each race season).  Twice a year we try to host a racers appreciate party for trophy handouts and general camaraderie (and some fun races to boot).

To begin, just come in on a race day and speak to the race director, he (or she) will introduce you around and give you and orientation.  We even give driving tips when we think it will help.

Come join us, your always welcome at Hobbytown’s Revolution Raceway!
